Final: India vs Sri Lanka
The two teams from the subcontinent will face each other at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai amid tight security. The match would be more special as it would be a directly contest between the World’s best batsman Sachin Tendulkar and World best bowler Muttiah Muralitharan. This is the last World Cup battle for both of them but only one will take home the cup. Mumbai has turned into a stronghold with strict vigil being maintained in at the stadium.
The multi-layer security has already been placed and Mumbai Police with the co-operation of National Security Guards, Maharashtra's elite Force One, Rapid Action Force, State Reserve Police Force and Quick Response Team, will keep tight vigil. The special guests at the event will be the India President Pratibha Patil and her Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa.Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will also be present there.
Several other celebrities from Entertainment industry, Business World , Political World and Sports world will also be present at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on the big day. Both teams finished second in their respective groups. Sri Lanka (WWWW,NR,WL,W) lost to Pakistan and had a washed out tie against Australia. India (WWWLWWTW) lost to South Africa and tied against England.
