After taking a series winning lead of 3-0 margin, India will now take on West Indies in the fourth ODI match of the series on Monday. More than Indian it will be a matter of pride for the Caribbean side to at least win the last two matches of the series and prevent India from achieving a 5-0 victory in their home soil. The young Indian team showed great maturity and stamina on Saturday night as they won a match that at one stage looked out of their reach.
Rohit Sharma lived upto his mark and played a match winning knock of 86 runs to take India to the winning scores of 226 runs. Sharma’s innings helped India recover from 92 for six to chase down 226. He added 88 runs for the seventh wicket with Harbhajan Singh (41) and put India back in contention. Praveen Kumar then struck 25 not out as the tourists coasted to a comfortable victory with 22 balls to spare. West Indies had posed a total of 225 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the game.
For West Indies, it will be more a fight for honour than anything else at present with the series already put of their hands. The West Indian bowlers unsuccessful to bowl out the Indian team and win the third ODI on Saturday when for the first time during this tour the ‘Men in Blue’ looked a bit out of colour at a point. Spectators will again expect to see a flashy performance by Jamaican Andre Russell who played a impressive innings of 92 runs in the last encounter to help his side reach the 225 runs mark.
