The Jordan football team has been rewarded US$250,000 by the Jordan Football Association for beating China and Iraq in the current 2014 World Cup Qualifiers. Jordan Football Association announced on Wednesday that US$6000 will be given to each player for the 2-0 away win over former Asian Cup champions Iraq and a further US$4000 will be given for the 2-1 home victory over China.
With the two wins, Jordan is now in most important position to reach the next stage. They are now top of Group A with six points, ahead of Iraq and China with three points each. Jordan will next travel to play Singapore, who are bottom of the group, on October 11 before meeting them at home on November 11.JFA president Prince Ali bin Ali Hussain, who is also FIFA vice-president, was pleased as he spoke to local media about the national football team's performance.
