The IPL franchisee team Pune Warriors India has fixed well known all rounder Sourav Ganguly as their team captain. The former Indian cricket captain will head the Pune Warriors team owned by Sahara India, in the fifth season of IPL to be played from 4 April to 27 May 2012. Pune Warriors India team in IPL 5 will don new turquoise blue and silver color jerseys. Sahara India said that turquoise blue color stands for zeal, confidence and victory, the very attributes and motto of a Warrior.
On this occasion, Chairman, Sahara India, Subrata Roy said "we are extremely proud that the legendary all rounder and one of the most successful captains of the Indian cricket team, Sourav Ganguly, is the Captain and Mentor of Pune Warriors India in this season of IPL. I am sure that his experience, skill and deep understanding of the nuances of the game will certainly infuse an exemplary spirit of passion and commitment amongst the members of the team."
