Ajantha Mendis has been left out of the Sri Lanka squad for the Twenty20 and the first three ODIs against New Zealand exceptional to a side strain he constant early in the World Twenty20. Delhi Daredevils will take on Highveld Lions in the first semi-finals of the current Champions League Twenty20 at Durban. In the second semi finals Sydney Sixers will face Titans on Friday at Centurion. Delhi Daredevils top of Group A with 12 points winning their two finished matches. Highveld Lions on the other hand have played four concluded matches, won three and lost won.
The only match that they lost was against the Sydney Sixers who are possibly the best side in the tournament on current form. Lions have defeated the defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings to be eligible for the semis and that proves how good they can be on their day. Delhi Daredevils finished with top of the Points table
Heavy rain after the toss in Centurion intended the final league match of Champions League T20 was abandoned without a ball being bowled. With that, Delhi Daredevils completed at the top of the group, and drew Lions in their semifinal in Durban. Titans will take on Sydney Sixers at home venue, Centurion.
The teams, both of whom had previously capable for the semifinals, were two points apart, and the result of the match could have had a shock on the final standings. Keeping the moderately low stakes in mind, Daredevils had rested Captain Mahela Jayawardene to give David Warner a hit. Ross Taylor lost the toss for them.

Ajit Agarkar all-round show support by a calm half century from Virender Sehwag helped Delhi Daredevils beat Perth Scorchers by three wickets and move a step closer to a semifinal berth in the Champions League Twenty20.After Delhi`s pace pair of Morne Morkel and Agarkar restricted Scorchers to 121 for five in 20 overs, the Daredevils struggled despite Sehwag`s half century but finally reached the target in 19.3 overs.
The win took Delhi to 10 points from three matches and gave them a good chance of qualifying while the defeat intended end of the road for Scorchers. Sehwag played an innings of 52 off 44 balls where he was controlled and ready to wait for the free deliveries as he hit only four boundaries and a six.

Chennai Super Kings probability of a semifinal place in the Champions League T20 experience a blow as it floppy to its second consecutive defeat in the competition with a six-wicket loss at the hands of Highveld Lions. The Auckland Aces have made an attractive start to their Champions League Twenty20 battle with a seven wicket win over the Kolkata Knight Riders. Pakistan introduces Azhar Mahmood once again guide the way for the Aces, taking 3-16 with the ball before top scoring with 51.
Auckland controlled Kolkata to 137 for six with Black Caps vice captain Brendon McCullum top scoring for the Indian Premier League side with 40 from 35 balls. Mahmood dismissed McCullum before also taking the wickets of South African Jacques Kallis and Manoj Tiwary, both for ducks, in a two wicket maiden.

An all-round show by Moises Henriques was sufficient to lift the Sydney Sixers to a crucial 14-run win over the Chennai Super Kings in their Champions League T20 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Henriques flaming a quickfire 49 not out off just 23 balls, then 3-23 with the ball, as the Australian franchise detained their nerve against the IPL giants.
Suresh Raina, with a classy 57 off just 33 balls, kept the Super Kings interested after Faf du Plessis had sprayed some magnificent strokes around the park in his 25-ball 43. But once Raina was skillfully caught on the boundary by the alert Steve Smith, the Chennai challenge folded, and they finally surrended on 171 for nine. Apart from Du Plessis and Raina, none of their big-name batsmen fired and that cost them very much.

West Indies allrounder Dwayne Bravo will not be included in the Champions League for Chennai Super Kings due to a thigh strain. He has been replaced by the Sri Lankan fast bowler Nuwan Kulasekara in the squad that is previously in South Africa. Bravo played in the World Twenty20 final. Super Kings have also lost batsman S Anirudha out of action for six weeks after fracturing his right clavicle. He has been replaced by the left-arm spinner Shadab Jakati.

League Twenty20 opener at Centurion, South Africa on October 13. On the same
day IPL-5 champ Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils will play the second
match to give a double-header start to the CLT20 League. The final will be
