KP is back in England Squad for India Tour

Kevin Pietersen will almost surely return to the England team in the first Test against India in Ahmedabad, after the England Cricket Board ended his 67 days by finally and officially welcoming him back. Hugh Morris, the managing director of England cricket, confirmed after a board meeting that the team director, Andy Flower, had judged Pietersen's "process of reintegration" suitably successful for the batsman to be recalled for the tour of India.

Pietersen had flown to England from South Africa on Monday for talks with Flower, the new Test captain, Alastair Cook, and other key players and coaches the major part of the reintegration process announced by the ECB chairman, Giles Clark. The batsman returned to South Africa to rejoin the Delhi Daredevils in front of their next game in the Champions League Twenty20 on Friday.

ICC Rankings : England - No.1 ODI Team

First time in almost three years Australia is no longer formally cricket's No.1-ranked one-day nation. After the ICC's annual update of its limited-overs rankings, Australia has dropped to fourth on the steps - its lowest ranking since the ODI table was launched in 2002.England is the new top-ranked team, just in front of South Africa, with world champion India third. On the Twenty20 rankings, South Africa has taken over from England at No.1 with Australia dropping from sixth to ninth.

Ian Bell in ODI Squad for West Indies Series

Ian Bell was recalled to England's ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against West Indies, starting June 16 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Bell, who found a spot in the side after Kevin Pietersen announced his retirement from England's limited-overs teams last week, will open the batting with Alastair Cook. "He will open, he's got a lot of skill and he's in good form," said Andy Flower, the England coach. "

Bell was the fourth highest run-getter in the recent three-Test series against West Indies, with 222 runs including three fifties in four innings. Bell is the only member of the present squad who did not feature in the ODI series against Pakistan in UAE in January. In other changes, Craig Kieswetter was named as wicketkeeper, while Ravi Bopara, Eoin Morgan and Samit Patel also found a place in the ODI squad.

Trott signs 3 year deal for Warwickshire

England batsman Jonathan Trott has signed a new three-year deal with Warwickshire. The 30-year-old, who was born in Cape Town, joined the Bears in 2002 and struck a record 245 for the second XI on debut. He followed this by recording a century on his County Championship debut against Sussex in 2003, but truly hit the headline when he made 119 on his Test debut to help England beat Australia in the deciding match of the 2009 Ashes.

He has now scored six Test centuries and was newly named the ICC player of the year after him and Warwickshire team-mate Ian Bell helped England turn into the number one-ranked Test team. "It's been fantastic to be part of the Warwickshire team for the last 10 years," Trott told the club website. "We've got an exciting young squad that's capable of testing for trophies, an skilled and innovative coaching team, and some of the best facilities in world cricket. I'm looking forward to many more years here at Edgbaston."

Warwickshire director of cricket Ashley Giles added: "Jonathan has made a massive impact at Warwickshire since joining the club.”He's popular with everyone and we're all delighted that's he's gone on to achieve so much with England over the last few years. "Having two of the world's top 10 batsmen (Jonathan and Ian Bell) training here with the squad since us ongoing our pre-season programme has been great for the younger members."

Ben Stokes ruled out for six months

Ben Stokes, the England and Durham all rounder, will be out of cricket for around six months after undergoing surgery on his right index finger in the USA. He is probable to return to action for the start of the 2012 County Championship season.

Stokes had picked up a complex fracture displacement in his finger during a County Championship match between Durham and Lancashire in May and had undergone surgery then, but his finger failed to heal totally despite wide rehabilitation and he was unable to resume bowling.

In the meantime, he made his England debut, in an ODI against Ireland in August, and played four matches during the home one-day series against India. He was left out of the squad for the tour of India so that he could undergo the surgery, and will now be out for six months.

The initial healing phase following the operation will be about three months and then there will be a additional three months of graded recovery and rehabilitation. The lay-off means Stokes will miss England's series against Pakistan in the UAE early next year. "My priority now will be to work hard on my rehabilitation over the next six months," Stokes said. "I want to make sure I am fully fit and available to start next season."
