Ricky Ponting retires from cricket after third test

Ricky Ponting – The most successful captain ever in the World Cricket


Ponting’s notably with emotion, as he called time on a magnificent seventeen year long career in Perth.  The 37-year-old announced his decision to retire at the end of the third Test match against South Africa. But he will play for Tasmania and be Hobart Hurricanes this season in the Big Bash League, Australia’s domestic T20 tournament. He failed in Brisbane and Adelaide against South Africa, scoring 0, 4, and 16.

His sparkling career saw him stack up an excess of records, right from leading Australia to two World Cup titles in 2003 and 2007 the only cricketer to do so. He is also the second highest scorer, after Sachin Tendulkar in Tests and ODI’s.

Pietersen returns in England Squad for India Series

England's strategy of rotating their squad will carry on in the T20 and ODI series against India. Graeme Swann has been absent from both squads while Steven Finn will only take part in the ODIs in January. Kevin Pietersen is back in England's ODI squad but he will also miss the T20s. Stuart Meaker could be in line for a T20 debut, in T20s squad. Jonny Bairstow, also in England Squad.

India retain same squad for 3rd & 4th Tests

Crushing defeat for India in the second Test against England at Mumbai, national selectors continue with the same squad giving targeted star players one more chance to prove their worth in the third match starting December 5 in Kolkata. The selectors renounce from making major modify to the team barring the inclusion of paceman Ashok Dinda for an injured Umesh Yadav. Dinda had been called as a cover for Ishant Sharma in the first Test and Yadav in the second Test although he did not get to play.

2nd Test - England beat India and level the series

England pulled back to 1-1 in a four-Test series when they breezed to a ten-wicket success on the fourth morning of the Mumbai Test. It was a victory which will have roused England's self-belief in Asia and which brought into question India's entire move toward for the series of relying on turning tracks, leaving them with much to consider ahead of the third Test in Kolkata next week.

India's slow bowlers had been performed by their England complement, with Monty Panesar and Graeme Swann ultimate with 19 wickets in the match in favourable conditions they hardly ever experience. Australia News - Pattinson ruled out of series

Injury that has lined James Pattinson out for the rest of the Test summer was so sharp that after bowling on the third day in Adelaide. As had been widely feared on second test the results of scans have established that Pattinson will miss a large piece of the home Tests for the second successive summer, having suffered a serious foot injury in January during the series against India.

Australia's players concerned for Pattinson's welfare when he left the field after bowling seven deliveries with the second new ball. IPL Players auction for next season in January

The players auction for the 6th season of Indian Premier League will be held in January next year either in Chennai or Kolkata. The auction would take place also on January 12 in Chennai or eight days later in Kolkata. This was determined by the governing council of the IPL, headed by Rajeev Shukla, which met in Mumbai. The participation of Pakistani players in the auction, pavement the way for their re-entry into the cash-rich T20 competition, will be decided by the IPL governing council.

Pakistani cricketers, who played in the inaugural season in 2007, were kept back out of the IPL player’s auction since 2008. Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab has determined to pay a penalty of Rs. 1 crore to the Cricket Board and inter their differences after they had dragged the BCCI to the court for arbitration events following the termination their contract for supposed break of regulations.

Ojha and Pujara moves up in Test Rankings

Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha, who stunned with a nine-wicket haul in the first Test against England, nine places to break into the top-five of the latest ICC rankings issued in Dubai. He recorded  9 wicket haul in the game India won by nine wickets in Ahmedabad to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.

The other Indian in the top-20 are pace bowler Zaheer Khan Move up one place to 14th and Cheteshwar Pujara, who struck a doubled hundred in the Ahmedabad Test, has boost rapidly 35 places to the 24th position. England captain Alastair Cook, who scored a gutsy 176 in his side’s second innings, has returned to the top 10 by rising four places to seventh. Indian opener Virender Sehwag is now in 22nd position after gaining one place following his 23rd Test century.

First Test - India beat England by 9 wickets

India has comprehensively beat England in the first Test at Ahmedabad to set the manner for the series. While England was always going to find it tough in India, the home side had their fair split of problems and a number of queries to answer. With an incredible win under the belt, the Indians would move into the second Test a confident part. 

The Test match started off on a very encouraging note for the Indians with the opening partnership doing well. The form of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag was a cause of concern in the lead-up to the series. However, Sehwag formed a sparkling hundred an effort that had shades of caution and his typical attack. Gambhir, on the other hand, was calm and looked keen to spend time in the middle. Cheteshwar Pujara is moving from strength to strength and has carried on from where he left off against New Zealand.

Kieran Powell returns to WI ODI Squad

West Indies have maintain spinner Veeraammy Permaul and opener Kieran Powell for the ODI series against Bangladesh, starting November 30. Permaul made his Test debut in the first game of the two-Test series against Bangladesh in Mirpur and pick up four wickets. He is until now to play an international ODI’s. Powell made a century in each innings of the Mirpur Test.

Kemar Roach, who is not playing the Tests due to a knee injury, was conceded fit for the five ODIs and one T20 international on this tour. Dwayne Bravo missed out again, having failed to improve from a thigh strain that had ruled him out of the Champions League T20 in October.

Watson returns to Australia Squad for second test

Gazi and Abul Hasan in Bangladesh Test Squad

First Test : Australia vs South Africa
