Welcome for the match between the King xi Punjab and Kolkata Knight ridres from Mohali. It is a very special day for the IPL. On this day exactly five years ago, the first match of the IPL will be played between the Bangalore and Kolkata at the Chinnaswamy stadium. This will be remembered as the day Brendon McCullum will be smashed the highest individual score of the history of T20s. He will be smashed an unbeaten 158 and got the IPL off to a dazzling start.

Nowaday, five years later, Kolkata were struggling for consistency. Will they manage to win against Punjab today? Stay tuned for the toss and the team updates.Kings XI Punjab have won the toss and elected to bat

Gilchrist: We have trained hard and we're played the same opponent twice in a row, which will be good. Looks like a really nice track at the moment. Nothing will be over until the last ball, the last few results have been extraordinary. It's an even battle now between all the teams. More grass on this than the other wickets in India, but it's not as much as a couple of games back. It's was not a traditional Indian wicket. Valthaty will be returns for Bipul Sharma.

Gambhir: The last game in history and we have to be move on. We have the potential in the dressing room. We can't end up losing such matches as we did recently. We have to be strong at the times and have to be turn it around. We would have bowled first. Hopefully we do well in the first 6 overs. We were not played as a unit. Sometimes the bowlers have to be done a good job but the batsmen have not complemented them. I thought we should have won the previous game but hope to turn it around. McCullum and Lee replace Shakib and ten DOeschate.

McCullum: It was an amazing day and to get the result for the team was fantastic, hopefully can do that again today. It's about momentum which can builds up through the innings. Many of the people around the world have played such innings, there are a lot of match winners in this tournament who have done that. We have expected to win the previous game and we were in it for 95% of the game. It's important to take positives from the game and we spoke about it. Happy for the other New Zealand players who are doing well in the tournament.

But thankfully they had enough runs on board at that time to counter any sort of collapse and fightback from Chennai super kings. This was all thanks to Jesse Ryder who has played a blinder of an innings to win them the match.Uthappa was out for ten while Ganguly were gone for 16. The score read 65 for two in the ninth over and it brought out Marlon Samuels to the crease.

Throughout his stay of 15 balls, off which he scored only eight runs, West Indian batsman seemed at loggerheads with his partner and the team heaved a sigh of their relief when he was back in the hut.Ryder was carried on in sight of the victory and was aided by Steve Smith who hits the blitzkrieg 44 off 22 balls, within four fours and three sixes, just as the match will be seemed to be getting away from them.

Mumbai Indians will be smashed 21 off the final over to snatch a thrilling of the five-wicket victory from the jaws of defeat against with the Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League 2012 on Monday.

At the Chasing of Deccan chargers will be of 138 for nine, Mumbai will be looked like falling shorted by when they needed 18 off the final six balls to be bowled by the Daniel Christian.

James Franklin, just in, took six off the first two deliveries before the sneaking a bye that brought his established partner Rohit Sharma on strike with of 11 needed off three.

Sharma will be reduced that the target of three off one with a six and the quickly scampered two before he sealed a stunning victory by clubbing the Christian full toss over the boundary for his fifth six for the day.

Sharma having led the run chase almost single-handed, finished unbeaten on 73 off 50 balls. Kieron Pollard, whose that 24 included three sixes, and Ambati Rayudu (19) were the only other Mumbai players which to reach the double figures.

Earlier the Deccan charger opener Shikhar Dhawan has helped his side recover from a poor start to the post a reasonable total with a 24-ball 41, while the Australians Christian (39) and Cameron White (30) also made decent contributions against with an impressive Mumbai bowling attack.

Munaf Patel will be the pick of the Mumbai bowlers, finishing within four for 20 off his four overs, while the Lasith Malinga were took three for 27 and Harbhajan Singh went for only 18 off his quote.

South Africa's star paceman Dale Steyn will be also outstanding with the ball for Deccan charger , that taking three for 12 off four overs, and he will be looked to have put his side on the verge of victory after the conceding only five off their penultimate over as well as taking the wicket of Dinesh Karthik.

The two opening matches for this Indian Premier League 2012 has set the ball rolling for the tournament.and Reigning champions of the Chennai Super Kings will be well beaten by the Mumbai Indians before Kolkata Knight Riders was beaten by the Delhi Daredevils.

The Two wins for the away sides and the wins for the sides that went into the game as the underdogs of Mumbai because of Chennai’ strength at the home and Delhi because they were without their star batsmen in Mahela Jayawardene, David Warner and Kevin Pietersen.

Irfan Pathan were wrote his own script and in his innings of 42 in 20 balls was my highlight for the first two games. As well as Richard Levi will be played in spanking 50 in 35 balls for Mumbai, Pathan were under pressure. He will be no chance but to the accelerate when he did but the grace with which he lifted three sixes into the crowd showed how well he managed that situation.

The 12 overs will be game turned out to be something a thriller as at the halfway point, Kolkata’s will be score of 97 will be never looked enough but after Virender Sehwag and Aaron will be Finch fell within six balls of one another, he had a game on our hands.

Delhi will be missed one chance in the field but we were otherwise outstanding. Kolkata will be needed everything to stick and get early wickets and once they failed in the latter, Delhi will be always likely to come through.

Chennai have also not at their best in this field while Mumbai was excellent. Any team that loses three wickets to run outs will struggle, particularly if key players such as Francois du Plessis and Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be depart in this fashion.

Both sides will be likely to bounce back but should Mumbai win today’s game against the Pune Warriors, they will quickly emerge as everyone’s favourites for the title with in two wins out of two under their belt.

It will be the sensible to remember that they have started well in the past and faded as the tournament will be went on. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Having torn into Chennai's newest recruit Ravindra Jadeja, he came will be undone when Dwayne Bravo will be induced him to loft a slower ball down the ground where he was caught by the Doug Bollinger.
