Mahela Jayawardene has definite he will step down from the captaincy at the end of tour of Australia a move he had implicit at for some months now. His second stint at the controls began in January, when he was called in to replace Tillakaratne Dilshan, and he committed to a twelve month term, which expires at the end of the present tour.
